Castletown Festival Day will be held on the first Saturday in AUGUST in Castletown’s Ancient Market Square in front of the magnificent Rushen Castle from 12 Noon until 10.45pm.
The days events will include a Childrens Fashion Contest starting at 1.00pm on the stage in The Square follwed by the selection of the Castletown Festival Princess (only open to girls who reside permanently in Castletown or Derbyhaven who are aged 7 to 11 years (inclusive,)and The Castletown Festival Holiday Princess (only open to visitors to the Island aged 7 to 11 years inclusive) both Princesses will take part in the Festival proceedings during the rest of the afternoon and the early evening. They will each win a Trophy, a Sash and £30. There will be the Crowning of the Castletown Festival Queen in The Square.
In Castletown’s Civic Centre there will be the Festival’s Bonny Baby Competition and this is open to babies of Island residents and visitors. The winner of each Class will win a Trophy plus £20; there is also a cash prize for the second and third places in each Class; there are four Classes in the Competition, there will also be a Trophy for the ‘Bonniest Baby in the Competition’.
There will also be the ‘famous’ Castletown Festival’s FREE Bingo Game held in The Square, with the winner of a Full House winning £100.
In the evening we have our Fancy Dress Competition (see details on this site) and the Castletown Festival’s Unique Grand Confetti Carnival and Open Air Dance held in The Square,and the Festival’s Firework display in front of the Castle.

HELPERS NEEDED FOR THE FESTIVAL EVENTS
Castletown Festival is always looking for volunteers to help with the Festival’s events. We would especially welcome some young male helpers (although we naturally welcome any new helpers – Female or Male) who can assist at both Festival Events, especially with regards to lifting and setting up structures and barriers. If you can help – even if only for part of each day or on one of the days please contact Tony on 824393. Thank You.
CAN YOU HELP THE CASTLETOWN FESTIVAL? – Castletown Festival is looking for a store located in Castletown for storing all its equipment, the store will need to be at least the equivalent size (in floor area)of a single garage and secure, in fact a garage would be ideal. The unit is required long term. However the Festival – which is a volutary community organisation – would require the unit at either no cost or a minimal annual cost.
