Welcome to 2018 – A year to celebrate our island and our connection to it.

Here on the Isle of Man we live in a special place and we gain benefits to our health, well being and quality of life from living here. We have natural and beautiful amenities on our doorsteps, a culture that is strong and a nation that is proud.

This year we will be shouting about the amazing things which people on our Island do and working with them to support events and initiatives which work to improve our quality of life.

What is it?

"It's not always sunny but there's still so much to do"

"Just because we're small doesn't mean there's nothing to do"

Explore More

There's so much to explore on our Island! We may be just 13 by 32 miles, but we have plenty of glens, beaches, plantations, footpaths and heritage sites to discover.

We know that sometimes it's hard to find time to explore but why not make 2018 the year to experience  all that our Island has to offer and find somewhere new.

Do More

This year we will be shouting about all of the amazing, unusual and usual things we can do on our Island and encourage you to try something different.

Whether it be setting up a new event, running a project or simply trying something new, 2018 is about showcasing everything that the Isle of Man has to offer.

Year of Our Island is all about celebrating our Island and our connection to it. We want to encourage our community to explore more of the Isle of Man and get more involved in the vast number of activities which are happening on our doorstep.

Whether you are thinking of running an event or just want to find a new hobby in 2018, our team is here to help you make the most of our Island this year.

If you need help to get an event off the ground or simply want to enhance something that's already happening you may wish to consider applying for funding through the 2018 Year of Our Island project.
