What's on in January?

What is it?

This is a year to make the most of our beautiful Island, celebrating the vast amount of things we have to see, do explore and take part in. It is about celebrating our UNESCO Biosphere status through a range of events, activities, trails and celebrations.

We'll be announcing more about our year shortly. In the meantime, follow our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds to keep up to date with the latest information.

When can I find out more?

There will be plenty of opportunities for people to get involved; to run a project or event of their own, with or without our support, to volunteer some time on development projects or just get out and see more, do more, explore more!

How can I get involved?

What is the Unesco Biosphere?

In a nutshell, UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man is all about keeping our Island a special place to live, work and visit. We are the first entire Island Nation in the world to receive this prestigious endorsement from UNESCO

Our Objectives

Isle of Man Government 2017

We are looking for members of our community to work with us in 2018 as partners.

Year of Our Island is all about celebrating our Island and our connection to it. We want to encourage our community to explore more of the Isle of Man and get more involved in the vast number of activities which are happening on our doorstep.

Whether you are thinking of running an event or just want to find a new hobby in 2018, our team is here to help you make the most of our Island this year.

The real question is, what do you want to do?

If you need help to get an event off the ground or simply want to enhance something that's already happening you may wish to consider applying for funding through the 2018 Year of Our Island project.
