Isle of Man Government 2018

Share More

It’s for the people who call the Isle of Man home – it’s about YOU!

Whether it’s through social media, traditional conversations, or doing something creative, we want you to connect with us and share your stories. Tell us all about it!

Use our social media tags, follow our pages – get involved and be part of the conversation this year.

The Isle of Man offers a wide range of things to do and see and this year we are encouraging you to explore more and do more on our island, and share more about what makes our island special for you.

During 2018 we invite you to join us in celebrating our island as a special place to live and work with opportunities for us to celebrate our environment, our culture, our heritage and our community.

Existing and new events and activities will be connected into a programme to help more people understand what makes our Island so special. Each month we will be celebrating one of the many things that are special about the Isle of Man; from our great outdoors to our quality of life, from our dark skies to our artisans.

We invite you to find something new this year, or re-find something lost, to do something different or long forgotten, and to explore more, do more, and share more.

Explore More

In just 14 by 32 miles, we’re blessed with a profusion of glens, beaches, plantations, footpaths, and heritage sites – there’s a lot to see, so let’s get out there!

We know it’s often hard to find the time to explore, but why not make 2018 the year that you discover something new to love about living here?

Do More

Kayaking, fell running, mountain and hill climbing, rambling, yoga, and more…

We challenge you to walk that active wear through the front door, kids in tow, and show them all the beautiful places you know!

Whether it be setting up a new event, or running a project - 2018 is all about showcasing everything that the Isle of Man has to offer.

Year of Our Island is all about celebrating our Island and our connection to it. We want to encourage our community to explore more of the Isle of Man and get more involved in the vast number of activities which are happening on our doorstep.

Whether you are thinking of running an event or just want to find a new hobby in 2018, our team is here to help you make the most of our Island this year.

The real question is, what do you want to do?

If you need help to get an event off the ground or simply want to enhance something that's already happening you may wish to consider applying for funding through the 2018 Year of Our Island project.
